I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new editor of Catch Cult Magazine. My name is Edward Payne, and I’m joining the magazine at an exciting point in its development. Catch Cult has built its reputation as a specialist angling title for readers who value knowledge, craft and a genuine connection to the water. It is a publication with a strong identity, and I’m proud to be part of its next chapter.

Joining me is Dan Foster, our new designer, whose creative vision will help shape the look and feel of the magazine going forward. Dan brings a fresh perspective while respecting the character and heritage that readers know so well. Together, we want to create a magazine that feels both familiar and renewed — a place for thoughtful writing, striking photography and the stories that matter to anglers.

While angling remains firmly at the heart of Catch Cult, we will also be broadening our focus. Alongside fishing, we’ll be giving greater attention to conservation projects, habitat restoration and the wildlife that makes our rivers, lakes and coastlines such remarkable places. Our aim is to celebrate not only the pursuit of fish, but the wider natural world that sustains it.

We’re looking forward to sharing this new direction with you.

Tight lines and be lucky, Edward Payne
